The starfish was made as a separate piece & then attached after he was beaded
He will eventually live in this frame but I have a lot of embellishing to do before he is completely done
So today I also finished a Caterpillar Bracelet that has been sitting waiting for the last 3 inches to be done for longer than I care to admit LOL
I recently bought a new wrist support, which is especially for sleeping in & I am pleased to say that it's making a LOT of difference in the pain level in my hand. The wrist support is padded so that the metal bar which keeps your wrist straight doesn't dig into your flesh - that's why I gave up wearing the last one I had - but this one is so comfortable & I no longer wake up with pins & needles in my hand.. I can now sit & bead without pain - YAY!!!!!
Hmm... I don't know why my pictures won't open to bigger pics when you click on them, if anyone can help me with this I would very much appreciate it

OH ELLEN!! The Starfish is beautiful!! Love it!
Your starfish is gorgeous! I love the color contrast and the texture. I want to reach out and touch it. Your caterpillar bracelet is lovely, too. Red and black are so rich and vibrant together. Sorry to hear that you've had problems with your wrist but the new support sounds like it's working for you. Beading without pain is a very good thing. Happy beading! -Karen
So glad to hear your wrist is better. Makes it hard to keep up when you can't bead. Love the starfish. The texture looks so real.
Also love the new haircut. It makes you look younger and that's always a good thing. LOL. I have to keep mine short too. Just can't fuss with it any more.

The starfish page is beautiful as is the bracelet.
When you upload your pics, in the middle and over to the right of the upload page there is a clickable option for small, medium or large for your image size. You might have to delete and upload again making sure you click either medium or large. That's all I know to do. Hope it helps.
Glad to drop in and hear all the good news...your hair looks wonderful, glad the headaches are getting better and your hand as well!
And the starfish is perfect....looks just like the ones in our tidepools.
Thank you Lora, Karen, Arline, Grace & Bobbi. Now onto the next month - gee I hope I catch up soon LOL
Grace I am uploading my pics in the large size but that doesn't seem to make any difference but thank you for the advice all the same - I'll tackle that problem another day though, I am going to make a start on my next page right now
I upload my pics with the small size. Could that be the trick? Your starfish is so lovely and realistic. He looks very nice on the blue you've chosen. I've been wearing a wrist support at night for over a year. They really do work. My husband noticed that my arm tingles (what a word for the pain it really is) the most when I am under a lot of stress. Why I don't know but the support even helps there.
Hope your headaches disappear quickly. Now, I'd better get back to beading since I am still working on August. LOL
Yes, I can see why you'd like us to be able to see the detail in your wonderful starfish! The trick to making "click-to-enlarge" images, is to start with a larger image.
Are you using images direct from your camera, or are you using a photo editing program on the images? If direct from your camera, see if there is a mode for higher resolution pictures. You won't get as many on a single memory stick, but they will be larger images.
If you are using photo imaging, when you save your image, are you chosing "save for the web?" If so, it will reduce the size. So don't save them that way, use a save to print command if you have it or just a normal "save." Now, when you upload to blogger, it doesn't matter which display size you choose, blogger will still have to reduce the size to display on your blog, leaving the click-to-enlarge orginal in your blogger "post file." This is sketchy, but hope it helps.
Your starfish reminds me of the W. Coast in Santa Cruz CA where I spent hours and hours playing in the rocky tide pools as a child. I loved the big orange starfish there!
Being plagued with head aches and wrist problems is no fun... I admire you for not letting it stop you. Bravo!
Thanks Robin & I am using very high resolution pictures, which is what frustrates me so much. The earlier pictures on my blog opened to larger ones with no problems, so I feel I'm banging my head against a brick wall here - Oh hang on, I tried that & all I got were headaches so I better not do that again LOL
I didn't know where else to write so am doing so here. I didn't intend to do anything 3D but it sort of happened. This will be a table topper when I get it all done and together which I will put a raised sheet of glass over. Since some of the beads are raised a bit anyhow, it's possible to include 3D waves. What is your suggestion? I had an idea in mind for how I was going to do the waves but am open to something that might be different, better, or just more fun. Thanks for the offer of help. That's partly why I joined this project - to get feedback.
Ellen
Please don't bang your head over the pictures. It might make the headaches reappear. Nice star fish and I love the back ground beading you have done on it.
Hugs, Helaine
Hee hee Thanks Helaine & no I won't bang my head anymore - those headaches are all but gone thank goodness ;9
Ellen, that starfish is magnificent! And I'm fairly certain it would not want you to get any more headaches so don't worry about getting photos to enlarge anymore. I, too, spent an entire afternoon fighting with photos not enlarging and simply said the heck with it!
Please take good care of yourself because I want to see more of your great stuff in the months to come.

Thank you Kathy - I've given up worrying about the darn pictures & am sure that one of these days it will fix itself, at least I hope so LOL
Incredible starfish!!
Thanks Judi, how's things down your way?
Believe it or not the knock on the melon probably not only gave you headaches but also twisted your neck a bit making your carpal tunnel worse. So you can either beat your head against a wall on the other side to even things out, or better yet get a massage to see if they can work out the kinks in your neck so the carpal tunnel will go away. Mine goes away when I can get to my massage therapist and he gets that pesky first rib back in.
Glad you have a wrist support to give you some relief.
The Starfish piece is delightful. You know I am a texture freak so both new pieces spark my fire.
Thanks Illaya, I hear you & Helaine had a great time last weekend, wish I could have been there with you both. Soon dear friend, soon
LOve your starfish!!!! and you are going to look so fine wearing that bracelet!
