The Mermaid made with PC, hand painted & from a mold I made some time back, I bezzeled around her like you would a cab
As you can see, the yarn is being transformed into sea grass with the addition of beads
Now the fun part begins - embellishing!!
So, the little orange bit is going to be a fish..
But he is not what I wanted so back to the drawing board I go..
The final fish, I am much happier with this wee guy, he's done in peyote stitch
And so it is finished, it was hard to know when it was done, I could have kept going with this one for at least another week but you have to stop somewhere, right?

For some reason I cannot get the last two pictures to enlarge, so here are close ups - I hope you can see the detail clearly in them

It's a great piece--I love it! But...you have a way to go to truly be behind. :)

I love the way you have made this 3-D. I never thought of that. Might have to give it a try! Thanks for the inspiration
It's wonderful, I love the bead bubbles going out of the mouth of the fish !
Thank you girls, I had a lot of fun doing this one - now to catch up if I can
It makes me want to be down there snorkeling with the mermaid. Totally cool.

That was great; like watching a slideshow. Seeing the progression I'd say you stopped at the right point. It looks wonderful.
she's exquisite!
Helaine.. Thank you dear, you'll be able to see it up close & personal when you come down for a visit;9
Freebird.. Thank you, I enjoy doing progress shots of my creations, I find it helps me recall how I did it all
Bobbi.. Thank you!
Ellen I think this is my favorite of your pages so far! Something about the start of the new year that lights a fire under us to finish what we've started, eh? I'm running to catch up too. xo, Monica

I love the fish!
I really like this piece! :) I am sort of fixated on mermaids right now, anyway, so she is very attractive to me ... but I love the fish and his bubbles ... and I really admire those blue shells with the pearls inside. Thanks for the progress photos, too -- sometimes it's hard to remember where we've been when get where we are aimed. :)
Linda
Thank you Diana, he was a fun part of the page
Thank you Linda, I have this 'thang' about mermaids too ~ grin. I really like to do sculptural stuff with beads so this piece was a lot of fun for me
That is so cool!
Thank you Cheryl, your work is pretty cool too, that hanging of the sleeping Gypsy is very neat!!
Nice work! I love fishes. I thank you for showing me how to create a little dimension using yarn!
Love the fish.
Gorgeous!!!! I love the pearls in the shells, the fish, the dimensionality, and most of all, I love your mermaid. As a person with no special affinity for mermaids, yours is so lovely (especially the way you painted her) that I'm drawn to her!
Stunning and very soothing at the same time.
Hugs
