Noverber BJP finshed at last

OK, so I really am running late but here it is with progress shots to show you how I did it

The Mermaid made with PC, hand painted & from a mold I made some time back, I bezzeled around her like you would a cab
As you can see, the yarn is being transformed into sea grass with the addition of beads
Now the fun part begins - embellishing!!
So, the little orange bit is going to be a fish..
But he is not what I wanted so back to the drawing board I go..
The final fish, I am much happier with this wee guy, he's done in peyote stitch
And so it is finished, it was hard to know when it was done, I could have kept going with this one for at least another week but you have to stop somewhere, right?

For some reason I cannot get the last two pictures to enlarge, so here are close ups - I hope you can see the detail clearly in them

That was great; like watching a slideshow. Seeing the progression I'd say you stopped at the right point. It looks wonderful.

Ellen I think this is my favorite of your pages so far! Something about the start of the new year that lights a fire under us to finish what we've started, eh? I'm running to catch up too. xo, Monica

I really like this piece! :) I am sort of fixated on mermaids right now, anyway, so she is very attractive to me ... but I love the fish and his bubbles ... and I really admire those blue shells with the pearls inside. Thanks for the progress photos, too -- sometimes it's hard to remember where we've been when get where we are aimed. :)

Thank you Diana, he was a fun part of the page

Thank you Linda, I have this 'thang' about mermaids too ~ grin. I really like to do sculptural stuff with beads so this piece was a lot of fun for me

Nice work! I love fishes. I thank you for showing me how to create a little dimension using yarn!

Love the fish.

Gorgeous!!!! I love the pearls in the shells, the fish, the dimensionality, and most of all, I love your mermaid. As a person with no special affinity for mermaids, yours is so lovely (especially the way you painted her) that I'm drawn to her!
